| The following information may be helpful if after installing the Whip! feature you can not view a drawing. This appears to only happen if you have both Netscape Navigator Gold 3.0 and Microsoft® Internet Explorer 3.0 installed on your system. With Netscape, the Autodesk® Whip! Plug in and supporting files (listed below) install in the \netscape\navigator\program directory. |
| File Name (1) | File Size | File Date | File Version | Product Version |

| 1. The above files are from the Autocad Internet Publishing Kit CD-Rom. Files
downloaded from the Autodesk web site may be different. The ActiveX function of Microsoft® Internet Explorer installs these files automatically (listed below) when it detects a "dwf" file. |
| File Name (2) | File Size | File Date | File Version | Product Version |
| whip.ocx | 131,072kb | 1/24/97 | 1,0,0,5 | 1,0,0,5 |
| heidi2.dll | 441,344kb | 1/24/97 | 0,2,0,3 | 0,2,0,3 |
| gdi2.hdi | 47,616kb | 1/24/97 | 0,1,0,2 | 0,2,0,3 |
| lfb2.hdi | 48,640kb | 1/24/97 | 0,1,0,2 | 0,2,0,3 |
| dllong_2.dll | 77,312kb | 1/24/97 | 0,1,0,1 | 0,1,0,1 |

| 2. The above files were installed when Microsoft® Internet Explorer detected a "dwf" file, located in this case at the Autodesk® web site. |
| The whip.ocx file installed in the \netscape\navigator\progam directory. The other
five files installed in the \windows\system directory. This caused both browsers to fail
when attempting to view a drawing file. The cause of the failure in this scenario was the file install locations. Netscape Navigator could not find the correct file versions for the newly installed whip.ocx. Internet Explorer also using the whip.ocx installed in the Netscape directory could not find the correct file versions. We copied the five files installed into the \windows\system directory to the \netscape\navigator\program directory. After doing this, both browsers would now view a drawing file. The solution above worked for us. We did not contact any of the software companies mentioned. We have added this page for your reference and do not guarantee you will get the same results as we did. |
